Tributes Pour In for the Reiners as Medical Examiner's Findings Face a Security Hold.

Well beyond 14 days after the tragic deaths of celebrated filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones persist in remembering the couple.

A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Writing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, stated he finally felt able to express about his personal sorrow.

"Adequate time has passed that I can now articulate my loss into words," wrote Elwes, saying that his initial encounter with Reiner left him smitten. "Once we started spending more time together I realized this was someone I wanted in my life."

The actor uploaded archival material from the movie, commenting that he doesn't recollect "a single day without laughter".

"The movie is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Values that Rob cherished deeply. This is one of the many reasons he was the best person to helm it," Elwes expressed.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, stating: "To say that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still pangs every time I think of you." He finished with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Fellow Artist

In a different piece, revered director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was very funny and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese pointed out Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the main character.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked seamlessly with everyone, and he grasped the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese noted.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Restricted

This week, a Los Angeles court official ruled to block the disclosure of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, following a petition from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A court order placed a security hold on the investigation to restrict the public release of "all case details, notes, reports or photos" associated with the active case.

The coroner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the outcome of murder, with a public database citing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Fallout and Commentary

After the tragedy, public figures expressed divergent comments.

Ex-President Donald Trump posted on the matter, providing provocative statements that were widely condemned by numerous commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan added his perspective to the critics recently. Talking on his podcast, Rogan characterized the remarks as "disturbing" and suggested they showed a worrisome absence of compassion.

Rogan finished by proposing that an adviser could have stepped in when the choice to comment on the death was made.
