Aircraft Transporting Pete Hegseth Required to Touch Down in UK Because of Crack in Windshield
A jet carrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unplanned landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday due to a fissure was identified in the aircraft's cockpit window, according to an official statement which stated that all passengers were secure.
"The aircraft touched down in accordance with established safety measures and everyone onboard, such as Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a spokesperson commented in a social media post.
Hegseth was returning from a quick journey to Brussels at the time.
This event does not mark the initial instance that a US military aircraft carrying a high-ranking official has suffered equipment failures.
Months ago, a US Air Force plane ferrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was required to head back to Washington after experiencing a technical issue.
